A Night of African Heritage: Mass Communication Students’ Week Culminates in Unforgettable Dinner Night Celebration

In a dazzling celebration at the heart of Augustine University, the Mass Communication Students’ Week reached its pinnacle with an extraordinary Dinner Night. A first of its kind event that left an indelible mark on the campus. The evening’s theme, “African Heritage,” permeated every corner, with the colours, sounds, and flavours of the continent creating an atmosphere of cultural jubilation.

A mesmerizing display of African patterns adorned the venue, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional drums, setting the stage for a night of cultural celebration. As the evening progressed, the tantalizing aroma of traditional African delicacies wafted through the air. From Egusi soup and Ewedu to Ofada rice, the menu showcased a delightful array of African culinary delights, featuring everything from the robust and hearty Amala to the smooth and versatile Semo; a true homage to the diverse flavors and textures of African cuisine.

Amidst the feast, esteemed individuals who had made significant contributions to the Mass Communication department were honored. Mr. Lesley Egharevba, the distinguished lecturer of the year, received accolades for his unwavering commitment to teaching and inspiring students. Additionally, Osas Anene and Wisdom Macaulay were recognized as the best female and male students of the year, respectively, celebrating their outstanding leadership and academic achievements. The content creator of the year, Lambert, received well-deserved honors for his innovative and impactful contributions to the profession in the digital era.

The dance floor came alive with the beats of Afrobeat and traditional music, embodying the spirit of pride in one’s rich heritage and the unity that bound everyone together.
