Billionaire philanthropist Femi Otedola takes the Helm as Chancellor of Augustine University Ilara Epe

Mr. Olufemi Otedola, the renowned chairman of Geregu Power PLC and one of Nigeria’s wealthiest individuals, was on Thursday, 26th October, 2023, inaugurated as the Chancellor of Augustine University Ilara Epe on the occasion of the 5th Convocation Ceremony of the University.
In his inaugural address, the business magnate expressed his commitment to Augustine University as unparalleled. Mr. Otedola also shared his personal connection to the institution and expressed his determination to nurture dreams, impart knowledge, and shape character.
Having been approached by other universities, Otedola’s decision to join Augustine University Ilara-Epe as chancellor was driven by his unwavering belief in its potential. His dedication to excellence is evident, as he has previously donated 2 billion naira towards the construction of the engineering faculty.
Mr. Otedola encouraged students to combine prayer and hard work in their pursuit of success. Consequently, he generously donated a staggering 1 billion naira to the university, with a significant portion allocated to scholarships for returning and new students. Additionally, funds were allocated for the construction of streetlights and further development of the engineering faculty.
With a vision for excellence, Otedola’s appointment marks a new era for the university, as it strives to become a global leader in education.
