A Week Filled With Celebration, Giving And Recognition At Augustine University

A week of excitement and friendship unfolded at Augustine University Ilara-Epe, as students gathered for the highly anticipated annual Student Week. The event, which lasted a full week, brought together the entire campus community for a series of engaging activities, community service initiatives, and a grand celebration of achievements.
The spectacular “Praise Night,” when students displayed their musical prowess in a heartfelt evening of worship and praise, served as the event’s opening act. The positive energy set the tone for the coming week as the students prepared for an impactful experience. Students went to the neighbourhood orphanage to visit the child inhabitants, bringing them joy and friendship while highlighting the value of compassion and giving back. The encounter served as a reminder of the value of civic engagement and the influence that people can have on one another’s lives.
The long-awaited “Hall Night” was one of the highlights of the week. Students from different hostels remained up late to socialize and promote solidarity. As students connected and embraced their common experiences, they were able to create priceless memories. The “Treasure Hunt” added a sense of excitement and encouraged healthy competitiveness by having participants look everywhere for buried clues. The brilliant winner who discovered the secrets would receive the grand prize of 100,000 Naira, while the last girl standing would be given a well-deserved award of 30,000 Naira.
The week’s main topics were learning and developing yourself, with a session on “Work Smart, Not Hard” by Revd. Ope Amusan. Participants took away insightful knowledge and useful advice on how to increase productivity and succeed in several facets of life. Students were advised at the seminar to balance their academic goals with wise plans for their future endeavours. Female football players displayed their athletic prowess during a thrilling game that enthralled spectators. The game served as a showcase for the abilities and commitment of the university’s athletes, encouraging others to follow their passions and pursue excellence.
Friday’s exciting “Bonfire Party” gave students a chance to unwind, and create enduring connections, and Students had the chance to decompress and create enduring friendships and memories that would last them throughout their time in college. The school was treated to a magnificent “Diner Night” the following evening, during which students displayed their abilities through a variety of acts. Students enthralled the audience with their ingenuity and passion, bringing the stage to life with poetry and song. The evening came to a close with the eagerly awaited award ceremony, which honoured outstanding students in categories including Most Intellectual, Most Sociable, Enterprising, Sport, and “Fashionable.”
On Sunday, when the week came to an end with a thanksgiving service at Mass, a feeling of appreciation predominated. Together, staff and students expressed their gratitude for the possibilities and blessings placed upon them. Later that day, an energetic water fight took place.
A noteworthy highlight of the week’s activities was undoubtedly the breathtaking “Pagentary.” The crowd was spellbound by this display of exceptional talent, style, and self-assurance. The best attributes of the students were on display as they embodied the spirit of unity and celebrated the diversity that makes AUI a lively and welcoming university. It was unique in its sort and was happening for the first time this time.
Augustine University Students’ Week once again demonstrated that it was a superb celebration of student life that promoted a sense of belonging, individual development, and goodwill. The occasion served as a reminder of the university’s dedication to giving its students holistic experiences and preparing them for life beyond graduation.
